We offer a variety of in-home personalized dog training sessions. Before you
sign up with us we would be happy to talk with you about your individual dog's
situation and make recommendations on the training options and your dog's
behavioral needs. Our goal is to make you an attentive, intelligent and well
informed educator for your pup. We are proud to offer our services to all areas
of Philadelphia including suburbs, Northern Delaware and Southern New Jersey.
Private Puppy Preschool (4 sessions) - This
program is for puppies 7 weeks to 4 months. Meeting
with you once a week for four weeks, our Tuff Pup
Trainer will carry you through a comprehensive
training program for your puppy which will be
focused on housebreaking, socialization, exercise
and the priming for all basic commands such as sit,
come, down, stand, stay and loose leash walking.
You will learn everything you need to know to raise a
great puppy you'll love to live with. These sessions
will include methods for dealing with bad behaviors
as well as an extensive understanding of canine
communication techniques such as body postures
and stress signals as well as operant and classical
conditioning. Each of these sessions will build on
your dog's individual strengths to get the most out of
each lesson.

Basic Obedience (6 sessions) - Meeting with
you once a week for six weeks, this program ensures
a high quality training program capable of monitoring
long term progress for dogs older then 5 months.
This program covers the learning of basic commands
plus the training to take your dog through more
advancing steps. Since our training programs are
geared toward creating a better trusting relationship
between dog and owner all training participants will
receive immediately useful information about dog
behavior psychology, body language and stress
signs all in the first session. Topics such as barking,
nipping, jumping, distraction outdoors, pulling on  
leash and house manners are all covered along with
many others. These sessions will leave you confident
and ready to train your dog with ease.

Advanced Obedience (6 sessions) -  A program
of more complicated commands, this allows time for
focus on more outdoor distraction training,
socialization and fun training exercises. Your dog will
learn a wide range of challenging games which will
work to stimulate them in healthy and productive
ways. Dogs will come away being able to perform
most basic commands under the stress and
distraction of almost any environment.
Programs:


Training Walks - Our training walks program is a unique way to speed up the
learning process for your dog while getting your pup lots of exercise. Your Tuff Pup
trainer meets with you once a week for three weeks and at the same time also
becomes your dog’s dog walker. These walks are specialized training sessions for
the trainer to work one on one with your dog while you are at work. This type of
training is also called "day training".
Our walks with your dog will focus on:

• Heeling (walking and following next to whoever is    
leading them)
• Socialization (learning social cues from other dogs)
• Distractions (able to follow commands in a wide      
variety of environments, and staying calm around
high interest distractions)
• Commands (learning and sharpening your dogs
commands so they will follow them anywhere)

- This program has proven to be very rewarding especially with stubborn or under

Behavior Consultations (3 - 4 sessions) - This program is for
dogs with one or more outstanding behavioral issues. These sessions
are spread out over a period of time with e-mail and phone follow ups.
We create for you a comprehensive behavior modification program
which will set a plan for improving your dogs most difficult behavior
problems. Is your dog reactive when seeing other dogs? Does your
dog have separation anxiety, or fear of noises? Does he bark
excessively? These are just a few issues that dog owners are faced
with when taking on a new dog into their family. This program will
address the causes and guide you through a structured solution to
your dogs more complicated issues.
**We give special attention to re-homed or newly adopted  shelter
dogs. Please don't wait to seek help with bad behaviors that could
eventually make the difference between re-homing a dog or not**
.
Tricks!-  Is your dog already well behaved but you want help training
him to do a few great tricks to impress your dog park friends? We can
help enhance the teaching of almost any trick though tricks may vary
depending on the dog.
